Dear Editor,
There seems to be a lot of misinformation being spread about Measures A and B.
Here are the facts: Unless Measures A and B pass, the Morgan Hill Library will close additional days each week leaving children, families and seniors with limited access to this essential community resource.
Measure A continues the $33.66 annual library assessment that has been in place for 10 years and expires in June. Measure A does not increase our taxes.
Measure B levies an additional $1 per month to restore recent cuts to library services and hours. These assessments are for library operating costs only and will expire in 10 years. (This is separate from the construction of our new library, which has already been fully funded by the city.)
Please vote yes on Measures A and B. This is a very small price to pay to keep the Morgan Hill Library open six days a week and accessible to all. The mail-in ballots must be received by the county Registrar of Voters by 8pm Tuesday, May 3.
