Stolen vehicle: n A resident of Birch Way reported that her
ex-boyfriend stole her Toyota Avalon after they got into an
argument and she broke up with him. She told police her boyfriend
also took the title to the Avalon from her desk. The report was

n A resident of First Street reported someone stole his Chevy Silverado, which was parked on the street in front of the residence. The report was taken at 8:30am on April 14.
Auto burglary:
n The Ford Store on Condit Road reported an employee’s locked Mazda Protege parked in the back of the lot was broken into. The suspect(s) attempted to steal the stereo. The report was taken on April 13 at 7:08pm.
n A Morgan Hill resident reported he saw a suspect breaking into his vehicle and attempting to steal the stereo while it was parked in the Cochrane Plaza shopping center. A window of the locked vehicle was shattered. The resident gave police a description of the suspect and the vehicle he left in. The report was taken at 4:43pm on April 14.
n A Morgan Hill resident reported the resident’s locked Jeep Cherokee was broken into while parked at the Mervyn’s in the Cochrane Plaza shopping center. A window was shattered, and it was unclear at the time of the report what was stolen from the Jeep. The report was taken on April 17 at 8:46pm.
n A Morgan Hill resident reported the resident’s locked Nissan Altima was broken into while it was parked at the Marie Callendar’s restaurant on Sutter Boulevard across from Cochrane Plaza shopping center. A window was shattered, and approximately $500 in merchandise was stolen from the Nissan. The report was taken at 8:56pm on April 17.
Battery:
n Subway restaurant in the Cochrane Plaza shopping center reported two female customers were fighting in the restaurant, kicking and punching each other. The report was taken on April 15 at 5:46pm.
Identity theft:
n A resident of Badger Pass Road reported she went to a bank to open an account and was denied because someone in Texas is using the resident’s Social Security number since October 2004. The report was taken on April 13 at 11:51am.
Burglary:
n A resident of Foothill Court reported someone broke the latch on a side gate at the residence and stole a bike from a shed in the backyard a week earlier. The report was taken on April 14 at 4:08pm.
Robbery:
n A Morgan Hill resident reported he had a flat tire on his bike and was walking the bike to a friend’s house on Rosemary Circle to fix it when a gray van pulled up and three males asked if he needed help. There was a struggle, the suspects threatened to beat up the resident and then stole his bike. The report was taken on April 14 at 5:06pm.
CHP
n A 43-year-old motorcyclist from Morgan Hill allegedly was driving drunk when he crashed into a car on San Martin Avenue and fractured his right foot and leg Wednesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP said Ukea Archer had been drinking earlier in the evening and was headed west on San Martin about 9:35pm when a Toyota Corolla in front of him prepared to turn left onto Murphy Avenue. Archer crossed over a double-yellow line in an attempt to pass the car as it was turning. The right side of his motorcycle struck the left side of the Corolla, driven by 45-year-old Martha McNiel of San Martin. Archer lost control of the motorcycle, ran off the road, and was ejected into a dirt field. He fractured his right foot and leg, and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. McNiel was uninjured.

Weapons:
n Silverio Perez Lopez, 32, of 12800 Center Ave. in San Martin, was arrested and booked in the Main Jail by sheriff’s deputies at 9:19pm April 17 at El Pato Loco Bar, 13325 Monterey Highway in San Martin, for carrying a concealed stolen firearm and possession of stolen property, both felonies. Deputies responded to a bar fight when the suspect was reported by witnesses to have been seen with a gun in his waistband. The gun, reported stolen in 1998, was later found behind the bar.
