Dear Editor,

I would like to respond to Terri Ogden’s letter published April 9, 2005, in The Times. I have already expressed to Ms. Ogden personally how sorry I am she had such an unpleasant experience at the library.

We do everything possible to make sure everyone who uses the library feels safe and comfortable. We do have specific policies about Internet use in our library and what happened was in violation of our policy. As soon as we were made aware of this incident we notified the Morgan Hill police.

The library is a public building and we do occasionally have to deal with behavior problems. The sooner the library staff is notified of any concerns, the quicker we can respond.

Rosanne Macek,

Community Librarian, Morgan Hill
