Dear Editor,

I couldn’t believe what I read in The Times about the city attorney getting yet another settlement from the city. What is going on here?

This person has literally taken the city to the cleaners and it seems the City Council can’t give her money fast enough for doing nothing, and no one will comment on any of it. This is the people’s business. We have a right to know. How can the City Council be so free with our money? I’m sure they don’t handle their own money this way.

All I know about this subject is what I read in The Times. As I remember, this all started with some unsubstantiated charges by a former councilwoman. It seems to me she should be made to pay for all the havoc she has wrought. She should reimburse the city for all the expenses they have incurred in this matter. It’s the right thing to do.

It would be a tragedy if some city workers lost their jobs because of the impact this is having on the city budget.
