Get out those poodle skirts and saddle oxfords. Tickets are available for the Rotary Club’s Let’s Go to the Hop on Saturday, April 16, from 6-11pm at the Morgan Hill Community Center, 17000 Monterey Road.

The evening will be patterned after a 1950’s sock hop. The community is invited to attend.

Here’s a rundown of the program in each of the two venues – the gym and the soda shop:

The soda shop will be serving food from 6-10pm. The picture station will be open from 6-9pm near the soda shop for a photo memento.

Cars from the 1950’s cars will be on display in the courtyard near the soda shop.

n 6pm in the gym: dancing to 50’s tunes plus ongoing slideshow of the 50’s

n 7pm in the soda shop: Elvis show

n 7:30pm in the gym: Hula Hoop contest

n 7:45pm in the gym: yo-yo contest

n 7:45pm in the soda shop: Elvis show

n 8pm in the gym: best poodle skirt, Fonzie look-alike, nerd contests

n 8:15pm in the gym: cutest couple contest

n 8:25pm in he gym: best dance couple

n 9pm in the gym: Ritchie Valens

n 9:45pm in the gym: trivia contest

n 9:45-11pm in the gym: dance to 50’s tunes

Let’s Go to the Hop will be held at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, Saturday, April 16, 6-11pm. Tickets are $45 per person in advance or $50 at the door.

The ticket price includes food, music, entertainment, raffle prize entry and contests. Proceeds from the event are used in the community for scholarships and for activities and events for seniors and youth.
