Enedina Barreras Chavez died Monday, April 4, 2005. Mrs. Chavez
was born to David and Soledad Barreras on April 23, 1923, in
Artesia, N.M., later coming to California with her parents in
1943.

Mrs. Chavez was born to David and Soledad Barreras on April 23, 1923, in Artesia, N.M., later coming to California with her parents in 1943.

On Nov. 24, 1941, she married Jake Chavez and devotedly shared her life with him for 53 years. She was a longtime resident of Morgan Hill, and most recently a resident of Reno, Nev. She received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ in 1997. She was a member of the Potter’s in Reno.

She was devoted to and cared for her children Theresa Rodgers, Donald Chavez, Steven Chavez and Ruben Chavez. She was the loving grandmother to Joseph, Jacob Rodgers, Jason Chavez and Steve Jr., Francisca and Daniel Chavez; and loving great-grandmother to Coral, Hunter, Marissa and Adrian.

Services begin at 10am today, April 9, at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Memorial Park.
