Lady Rams athletics luncheon set for Wednesday
People who support women’s athletics programs are invited to attend the Inaugural 2005 “Lady Rams” Luncheon on Wednesday, Feb. 23, noon-1pm at Eagle Ridge Golf Club, 2951 Club Drive, Gilroy.
The Keynote Speaker is Ms. Janice Richard, Women’s Basketball Coach at San Jose State University. Tickets are $35 per person.
“We are excited about bringing awareness to our women’s athletics programs at Gavilan College,” said Ron Hannon, Gavilan College Director of Athletics. “In keeping with the mission of Gavilan College, we want to provide competitive and comprehensive opportunities for female student-athletes in this community. I hope the community will embrace this opportunity to share their support as well.”
Proceeds go toward women’s athletics programs at Gavilan College.

MH Pride coaches needed
The Pride of Morgan Hill Girls Fastpitch Softball Club is now accepting applications for B division coaches for the Summer 2005 season. Pride is looking for coaches in all age groups, including 10s, 12s, 14s, and 16s. The league will accept applications until Friday, Feb. 25.
All coaches need to be ASA-certified in 2005 to qualify.
Clinics are currently running and can be seen on the ASA website at www.norcal-asa.org. The clinics are only two hours long. The league will form B division teams out of the Spirit recreational league, so girls must play MH Spirit softball to qualify to play for Pride B division play.

OVYSL tryouts, signups
The Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League is holding tryouts for competitive U15-U19 teams on Feb. 26-27. There is no fee for tryouts.
Also, the OVYSL is accepting registrations for spring soccer for U6-U12 recreational players. The season runs from April 9 through May 28.

Tryouts for the South San Jose Youth Soccer League will be held Saturday, March. 5.
Tryouts for girls will be held from 10am to 11:30am, and for boys from 12:30pm to 2pm at the following locations: Boys and girls aged 9-10 at Oakridge Elementary; boys and girls ages 11-12 at Martin Murphy; and boys and girls ages 13-14 at Bernal.
