Our family would like to make our community aware of an exciting event happening very soon. Our own Morgan Hill Ballet will sponsor the first full-length ballet ever to be performed in South County. I will admit to skepticism. A professional ballet in our small community? Yes!
We have been attending local theatre, music and dance performances and participating in them for more than 15 years. We have seen amateur performances and professional ones. We have participated in both types.
We have attended the last three performances of the Morgan Hill Ballet and I have seen increased professional quality in their performances. Earlier this spring our family attended the company recital, where the most advanced dancers perform.
We went expecting a small town amateur dance recital. We came away having enjoyed a most polished and professional performance.
This same group of dedicated dancers is starring in La Fille Mal Gardee, (the badly guarded daughter), at the Gavilan College theater on June 3-4. Performances are at 7pm Friday and 2 and 7pm Saturday. We would encourage all music, dance and theatre lovers to attend. You will thoroughly enjoy yourselves.
