Mount Madonna School’s annual Ramayana is an epic celebration of community and imagination. The play involves a cast of hundreds; galvanizing the student, parent, faculty and volunteer communities into a united force and shining in the glittering spotlights at sold-out performances.
The Ramayana is one of the two great Indian epics. It tells about life in India around 1000 BCE and represents the story of Rama’s passage on earth.
In the production, tribes of students in different grades portray forest animals, deer dancers, monkeys and others. Performances take place June 10 and 11 from 7:30-11pm and June 12 from 2:30-6:30pm, at the World Theater CSUMB, 100 Campus Center, Seaside.
