Saturday, June 14–Don’t miss this beautiful trail run—the out-and-back course trail is a slight uphill on the way out with a few rollers along the way. As the description below states, it is “relatively flat,” but as I said, don’t be surprised by the rollers. This is a great little race with lots of energy from runners and volunteers. It is a nice introduction to trail running for those who have not done so. And for veteran trail runners, well, it is not a tremendous challenge in terms of technical running, but it is still a trail, and running in the woods is a great way to spend your morning. The out-and-back format actually works well—you can see exactly who is ahead of you and where you are in the race.

The beautiful Hunting Hollow Valley is the location for the Henry Coe 5K/10K Fun Run and Walk again this year. Interspersed between two mountain ranges the relatively flat dirt trail course passes through late spring flowers such as California Roses, Lupines, Clarkias, with a glimpse of Farewell to Spring blooms scattered through the grasses. Sycamore, Bay, and Oak trees parallel the stream up the valley to the turnaround for the 10K.
The course is fairly flat from the start to the turnaround. It is an out and back course with both the 5K and 10K starting at 9:00 AM at the gate at the end of the Parking Lot.
