In an effort to help raise funds for a local family that lost its home and belongings to a fire, the City of Morgan Hill’s Youth Action Council will host a Zumba Fitness fundraiser Feb. 7 at the Community Cultural Center.
The proceeds will go to the Aguayo family, whose Moreno Lane residence, north of the Gilroy city limits, burned down Jan. 22.
The Aguayos have been living in a hotel since the fire, with some assistance from the American Red Cross and community members.
Friday’s fitness fundraiser is for all ages with Zumba for Kids ages 3-12 running from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. followed by Zumba for Teens and Adults ages 13 and older from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $5 for children and $15 for adults, which includes child care from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. They are available at the Centennial Recreation Center and the Community & Cultural Center welcome desk.
