This is an open letter to the community of Morgan Hill asking for their support of the Live Oak Athletic Boosters Golf Tournament on Sept. 18 at the Coyote Creek course.

Last year because of budget shortfalls, Live Oak High School was scheduled to eliminate eight sports including freshman boys baseball, freshmen girls volleyball, varsity tennis for boys and girls, varsity golf for boys and girls, varsity co-ed driving, and junior varsity wrestling.

The Live Oak Athletic Boosters took the unprecedented step of providing in excess of $22,000 to the school district in order to save those sports. Further, during the balance of the year, the Boosters contributed in excess of $20,000 for team equipment, supplies and other material.

Once again, funds for Live Oak High School’s athletic programs are in a shortfall. The Boosters are attempting to fundraise to save our sports. Come to the aid of Live Oak athletics and sign up at 408-778-7860 for the golf tournament on Sept. 18. Community support can make this happen!
