Two School District principals were faced with unnerving events on their campuses Thursday, according to Police Department Lt. Joe Sampson.

Police were still investigating the incidents, and details were sketchy Friday.

At Barrett School, Principal Lisa Atlas apparently had to lockdown the school office sometime Thursday due to an irate parent whom Sampson said got into an argument or “went after” Atlas.

Sampson also said after the woman left the school, she continued to cause trouble “around town.”

At Live Oak High, 1505 E. Main Ave., on Thursday, several students were nearly run down by another student or students in a vehicle in the school parking lot, Sampson said. He said it was still unclear whether the incident was some type of joke, a game of “chicken,” or something more serious.

Live Oak Principal Nick Boden and Atlas did not return calls for comment,
