Dear Editor,

A sport consists of normal physical activity or skill carried out under a competition, for self-enjoyment, to attain excellence, for the development of skill, or side competition, and scoring system.

Cheerleaders have this all in a sport. Cheerleading today is much more than pretty girls jumping up and down.

It requires women and men of strength, endurance and power who embody school pride, and promote school spirit.

Cheerleaders are athletes, motivators, leaders with a sense of discipline that carries over into life.

Cheerleading is a recreational activity and sometimes competitive sport involving organized routines including elements of dance and gymnastics to encourage crowds to cheer on sports teams.

They work just has hard as the average sport if not even harder.

Try looking into going to a game and see them in action.
