After dropping its first match of the season to Los Gatos on
Wednesday, the Live Oak High field hockey team rebounded with an
impressive 5-0 victory at Branham on Friday. Senior Eileen Grove
led the way with two goals, one each in the first and second
halves, and an assist for the Acorns (1-1 overall). Both Grove
’s goals were assisted by Samantha Ferry.

Senior Eileen Grove led the way with two goals, one each in the first and second halves, and an assist for the Acorns (1-1 overall). Both Grove’s goals were assisted by Samantha Ferry.

Live Oak’s Katie Keyser also scored a goal, off an assist from Grove, as the Acorns took a 2-0 halftime lead.

Paris Rowan (assist, Keyser) and Locarnini added goals in the second half.

Live Oak dropped a 3-1 decision to visiting Los Gatos in the season-opener despite a goal from Grove.

LO girls volleyball

Host Live Oak beat Santa Cruz 25-12, 25-18, 25-21 on Wednesday. Senior Tiven Catrett had a team-high 10 kills, while senior Heather Molyneoux had six aces. Senior Juliette Bowers added a team-high 14 digs.

LO girls water polo

The Acorns started the season with a 14-2 rout of Notre Dame on Tuesday. Senior goalie Danielle Maldonado had three saves, while Ronni Gautschi had a team-high six goals, and Breanna Sennert and Laura Melroy each had two.

In JV action, LO won 23-0.
