Two Morgan Hill men were arrested Saturday evening after attempting to rob a Morgan Hill man in the Tennant Station shopping center.

According to Morgan Hill Police Cmdr. Joe Sampson, the victim was walking in front of Rosso’s furniture store when he dropped a handful of money from his pocket.

At the time, Sampson said, Larry Howard, 19, and Joey Howard, 18, were in a car in the parking lot and likely saw the money fall out of the victim’s pocket.

The Howards stopped their car and allegedly asked the victim if he knew where they could buy some marijuana.

Sampson said the victim was “nervous and uncomfortable,” and told the suspects he did not know where to buy marijuana, and then he bent to pick up the money.

One of the suspects allegedly punched the victim in the back of the head, grabbed the $350, and drove off.

Both suspects were apprehended, Sampson said, but more details on the case were not available at presstime.
