coyote creek ace

Santa Clara resident Gary Citti notched his first-ever ace on April 15 using a 5 wood at the 156-yard 14th hole on the Tournament Course at Coyote Creek Golf Club – the 36-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature facility in the picturesque countryside minutes from San Jose.

The 53-year-old Citti, co-owner and operator the Bay Area flower shop chain Citti’s Florist, was playing in the District #5170 Annual Golf Tournament. A 13-handicapper, Citti selected a 5 wood because of a stiff wind and a hole located in the back left of the green.

“It felt perfect off the club, just the way it’s supposed to,” says Citti, an avid golfer for more than 30 years who enjoys playing Coyote Creek for its friendly staff and excellent course conditions. “This is most definitely the highlight of my entire golfing career.”
