Billy Ray Robertson, born Jan. 7, 1932, in Huntsville, Texas, died April 17 after a six-month battle with cancer.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and best friend. He was a family man and a good friend to many people. He was the rock we all leaned on. Bill was survived by his wife of 54 years; three children; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

We will all miss him so very much, family members said. Life will not be the same without our rock.

Bill retired at the age of 56 after working for Lockheed for 30 years. He was a jack-of-all-trades and kept busy building and remodeling houses for himself and others. He was an intelligent man who had a philosophy that if someone else could do it, he could too. He loved to hunt, fish and go off-road in his Jeep 4×4.

Services were today, Friday, at Johnson’s Funeral Home.
