Live Oak High track standouts Cobbie Jones and Brandon Powell are set to compete at the Central Coast Section track and field finals at San Jose City College on Friday. Jones will compete in the 800, while Powell will run in the 110 high hurdles. Running events begin at 6 p.m.

TCAL vball all-star matches

The Tri-County Athletic League will be hosting its fourth annual Boys’ Volleyball Senior All-Star match on Wednesday, June 2 at Palma High School at 7 p.m. The boys’ game will be preceded by a Girls’ Volleyball Senior All-Star game, both of which will showcase the talents of outstanding volleyball players in the class of 2004. Live Oak coaches James Uthes and Laura Coleman will help coach the all-star squads, which will be selected from the all-TCAL honorees and divided up into two teams for the match.

Morgan Hill Pony Baseball is registering players for the 2004 season. Registration forms can be printed from the MHPB website at: www.mhpb.org and mailed to: MHPB, PO Box 353, Morgan Hill, CA 95038 prior to June 4. Walk up registrations will also be accepted on Saturday, June 5 at the Live Oak High baseball field. New players to the league will be required to present a birth certificate as proof of age. Morgan Hill Water Polo is now opening registration for their summer junior water polo program for beginning swimmers. Wetball is a modified version of water polo that can be safely played by boys and girls ages 5-10, no matter their level of swimming skills.
