CHP Accident: Three people suffered minor injuries when Patricia
Johnston, 47, of Lemoore, lost control of her 2002 GMC and careened
across three lanes of traffic and collided with a 1987 Mercury
driven by Carmelo Martinez, 33, of Salinas, while traveling
southbound on U.S. 101 near the Burnett Avenue overcrossing Sunday
afternoon. The collision caused the GMC to flip over and a trailer
it was towing to detach. Johnston received a bruised knee. Two
passengers in Johnston
’s car also received bruises. Martinez was uninjured.

Drugs: Lynn Michelle Carmody, 38, of 658 San Pedro in Morgan Hill, and Scott Grier Rudy, 22, of 515 W. Main St. in Morgan Hill, were arrested at 4:50 a.m. Sunday, June 20 at 8175 Monterey St. Rudy was arrested for alleged being under the influence of a controlled substance. Carmody was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance, a felony, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Laura Lynn Amann, 40, of 94 Roosevelt Ave. in San Martin, was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 19 at Bonfante Gardens, 3050 Hecker Pass Highway, on suspicion of embezzlement and possession of methamphetamine, felonies.
SHERIFF
Burglary: Florenzio Ramirez Sanchez, 31; Jaime Guadalupe Mendoza, 39; and Isidro Guzman Gutierrez, 35, all of San Jose, were arrested at 3:14 a.m. June 23, at Highway 101, just south of Cochrane Road, on suspicion of conspiracy and burglary, felonies. The suspects admitted to smashing the glass of a passenger side window, entering the vehicle and taking two guitars and golf clubs. All suspects were booked into the Main Jail.
• Somebody entered a garage in Morgan Hill through an unlocked door and took 4 dual-pane windows and 4 boxes containing floor tiles, paint and misc. items worth about $620 between 11:30 p.m. Sunday, July 4 and 9 a.m. Monday, July 5, as reported at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 5.
Assault and battery: A six-foot Hispanic man with crew cut hair reportedly fired 10 to 15 air pellet gun shots between 12 and 1 p.m. Thursday, June 17 and then got into an SUV and fled the scene. It was reported at 8:45 a.m. Friday, June 18.
• Joseph Destefani, 51, of 14115 Foothill Ave. in San Martin, is at-large for alleged misdemeanor battery and possession of narcotics, a felony. Destefani allegedly hit a tenant with an open fist and fled in his car, which was found abandoned with methamphetamine inside.
Cruelty to animals: David Phillip Lawson, 42, of 13150 Depot St. in San Martin, was arrested at 7 p.m. June 15 on suspicion of cruelty to an animal. A witness saw Lawson allegedly shooting at her dog with a brown air rifle at 13170 Depot St. Lawson claimed not to own an air rifle and deputies found no rifle at the home.
Drugs: Charles Phillip Webster, 25, of 12640 Crest Ave. in Morgan Hill, was arrested at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, July 4 at McConnell Court and Murphy Avenue in San Martin on suspicion of possession of crystal methamphetamine, a dangerous weapon and drug paraphernalia. Allegedly, Webster was found with a meth pipe, meth and nunchucks with him.
Terrorist threats: Ron Chong Kim, 38, of 9610 Monterey Road in San Jose, was arrested at 8:05 a.m. Wednesday, June 30 at his home on suspicion of terrorist threats, brandishing a weapon and vandalism at a home located at 1551 Chiri Court in San Martin. Allegedly, at about 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, Kim broke the window of the home with a bat, threatened the victim who was inside and started to approached with a knife. The victim fired a .410 shotgun into the air twice and scared Kim away. Kim was later arrested and booked into the Main Jail.
