Just wanted to let you know that I there is a huge discrepancy between how the recyclables are picked up in Morgan Hill. Until last month I lived in the John Telfer area of town. Trying to be the good citizen and recycle, I would put aluminum cans and the soda containers (cardboard) in the large gray container. Those items were always picked up without a problem.
Now that I live in the center of town, El Toro School area, the driver inspects my recyclable. If I pass inspection, they will then be picked up. If, however, my aluminum cans are commingling with other recycle items, they will not be picked up.
My question is why is there such a discrepancy in the policy and its enforcement? It seems that if there is a policy, it is not consistently applied to the town. Why? Also, are we not trying to accomplish the same end result?
