Dear Editor,

I am overwhelmed with thanks and gratitude to every last one of you. I am still trying to comprehend the impression the Every 15 Minutes program has made on our lives and, most importantly, the lives of our Live Oak High students. I have heard many, many positive comments from the students and have received many personal thanks from the students directly. That is what matters the most. We accomplished what we set out to do: make the students think about the choices they make.

Thank you, Jennifer. You provided the encouragement when we decided to do this program in an unprecedented four to five months. You never once doubted that it could be done. Thank you for always being there with an answer and calming disposition inspire of the crisis at hand. Thank you for “calling in the forces,” all the emergency response agencies, who so willing volunteer their time and energy to this cause.

Thank you, Kendall and Terry. You provided the encouragement to the administration and parents when it seemed they would not support a program of this kind. Really it was more of a “kick-butt” attitude, but you did it so nicely.

Thank you, Vini. Your perfectionism worked. The sound and the clarity of the sound were incredible. I have never before heard the sound quality sound better in the stadium and gym.

Thank you, Kevin. You are a natural for this sort of work. You came on board midway, but no one would ever know. Whenever there was a problem or task, you not offered to take care of it, but did it ever so quickly.

Thank you, Tony. Your boundless energy and enthusiasm kept not only you, but all of us going through out the long hours. The video you and “the boys” produced was exceptional. I think you have established a new benchmark for the E15M videos. Your video team produced a video that really touched the students.

Thank you, Mr. Norm Dow. You were not going to let anything, not even Mother Nature, stand in the way of this program taking place. You are truly dedicated educator. I do not think anyone really comprehends how deeply you care about the students, faculty, administration and parents in the Live Oak community. I am in awe of your outstanding dedication.

Thank you, Mr. Nick Boden. It took a leap of faith to stand behind a group of people whom you met for the first time in June. We are truly thankful for the support you provided.

Thank you counselors and clergy (Barry, Jan, Pat W., Pat, Lindsey, Ooma, Chris) for the insight and advice on the many different situations we encountered. Your expertise and support was a crucial element of this program.

Thank you, Debbie G., Debbie J., Debbie M., Nancy, Sharil, Karen, Shawn, Jayne, Sherri and all the parent volunteers. Thank you for your hours upon hours of work and your conviction to put this program Live Oak. I have to say we had some truly magical moments we will never forget.

Thank you, Don, Phil, Lt. Sampson, Mr. Lee, Mrs. Peckler, Curtis, Bob, Virginia, Marcie, Diane, Gigi, Erica, Matt, Claudine, Joe,, Ron, Ryan, Billy, Marius, Phil, Alan, Steven, Aaron, the ASB students, and anyone I have not mentioned and should.

Thank you, AMR, CHP, County Fire, MHPD, Sheriff’s Dept, County Communications, County Coroner, Dept of Corrections and Valley Medical Center.

And, thank you, Kaitlin, Eileen and Jacquelyn. Thank you for caring so much. You will never know how many lives you touched with this program.

I look forward to working with all of you again Kathy McBride, Morgan Hill
