Robert F. Card died of natural causes at his son
’s home in San Juan Capistrano on Nov. 12, 2004. He was 76.

A native of Detroit, Mich., Mr. Card moved to Hollister in 1963 from Van Nuys, then to Gilroy in 1968. He worked as maintenance supervisor for Gilroy Foods for 27 years – retiring in 19-90. He also acquired an engineering certificate during his career. He was an Air Force-Air National Guard veteran working as an armament technician.

He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a hard working man but he always put his family first.

He was the loving husband of Barbara Card of Gilroy; dear father of John Card of Newman, Robert Card of San Juan Capistrano, Larry Card of Newman, Loralee Card of Gilroy and Scott Card of San Jose; grandfather of Tim, Kyle, Matthew, Loralee, Patrick, Ami, Casey, Alex, Justin, Sheridan, Kaleena and Kendra; great-grandfather of eight; brother-in-law of Clora Conn of Idaho and Ted Barney of Nevada; nephew of Ruth Kennedy of Ohio; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Nov. 17 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Burial took place at San Joaquin National Cemetery, Santa Nella.

The family asks that any donations be made to the Missionary Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
