The Gavilan Niners held their October Ace Day on Oct. 28 at the Gavilan\Golf Course.
Ace for Oct. was Opal Imprescia, Gilroy, net 29 which was also good for first place in the first flight. Second was Anita Sciutto, Capitola, net 32. First in the second flight was Betty Post, Morgan Hill, net 35, second was Joan Webenbauer, Morgan Hill, net 36 and third was Nina Kimoto, Watsonville, net 39. Low putts went to Birgit Caparusso, Gilroy with 13.
Winner at short course held on Oct. 8 was Jane Unland, Morgan Hill. She came in first in her flight.
The Gavilan Niners held their annual invitational on Oct. 21 at the Gavilan Golf Course. In all, 37 women from various golf courses participated in a four-ball scramble over 18 holes and then enjoyed a great lunch served by the Gavilan Niners members. Many prizes were awarded and the golfers participated in a silent auction.

SCBA registration
On Saturday, Nov. 20 from 9am to noon there will be a registration table for the Winter session of the South County Basketball Association at the Britton Middle School gym.
The cost is $85 for a returning players and $105 for a player who needs a jersey.
For any application postmarked after Nov. 26, add $20.

Mt. Madonna YMCA Youth Basketball Registration Underway
Youth basketball league registration for boys and girls ages 2-16 has begun at the Mt. Madonna YMCA located at 17666 Crest Ave. in Morgan Hill.
The registration deadline is Dec. 19.
Youth basketball league games are played every Saturday from Jan. 8 through March 12 at YMCA and local facilities. Practice sessions once a week are scheduled by coaches for ages 7 and up.
Saturday game times will be announced by YMCA volunteer-coaches.
The registration fees for youth basketball are $45 for facility members and $65 for program members. A free youth basketball T-shirt is included in the registration fee.
Youth will learn the basic skills of basketball, including dribbling, passing, shooting and defense. Leagues emphasize skill development, sportsmanship, fair play, respect for others and fun.
Each child is guaranteed equal playing time in every game. Participants must provide their own tennis shoes.
YMCA memberships and programs are open to the public. The annual membership fee is $25. Scholarships are available through contributions and individuals and families may apply by contacting the Mt. Madonna YMCA.

Rams Casino Night
Back by popular demand, the second Annual Rams Casino Night returns Nov. 12.
