Dear Editor,

If you’re wondering how you can support our U.S. mlitary personnel who are serving in Iraq, it’s easier than you may think.

Our troops are in need of care packages. These packages contain items that increase the sanity and spirits of soldiers. Things such as toothbrushes, Ziploc bags, decks of cards, hard candy, letters of support, pairs of white cotton socks and chewing gum can increase our military’s well being.

If you are interested in participating in this drive, even if you donate only one or two items, your help and donations are appreciated. Please bring your item(s) to the Veteran’s Day Memorial Service and place them in the collection barrels.

The service takes place Thursday, Nov. 11, at 9am at First Street and Monterey Road in the Downtown.

If you have questions about this drive or would like to receive a detailed list of items that can be donated, please contact Eagle Scout candidate Mark Johanson at sept0988@yah oo.com or 778-6888. Thank you for your support.

Mark Johanson, Morgan Hill
