Raymond A. Barbosa died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, in Hollister. He
was born in California and was 78 years old.
Raymond A. Barbosa died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, in Hollister. He was born in California and was 78 years old.

Mr. Barbosa was a longtime resident of San Juan Bautista who served in the U.S. Army during WW II and worked in trucking service for many years. He attended Mission San Juan Bautista, liked woodworking, fishing and camping and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling the United States and Mexico with his brothers.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Rodolfo Barbosa of Redding, Jesus and Linda Barbosa of Morgan Hill, Art Barbosa of San Juan Bautista, Virginia Barbosa of San Juan Bautista and Esther and Paul Hill of Hollister; brothers and sister, John Barbosa of Santa Maria, Frank Barbosa of Gilroy, Linda Casillas of Reno, Nev., Phillip Barbosa of Shafter and Ray Barbosa of Modesto; his close friend and companion, Carmen Rodriguez of San Juan Bautista; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Barbosa was preceded in death by his wife, Esperanza, and a grandson, Nicholas Barbosa.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am, today, Nov. 9, at Old Mission San Juan Bautista. Friends can gather at the funeral home at 9:15am for a procession to the Church.

Interment and military rites will follow the Mass at San Juan District Cemetery in San Juan Bautista.
