There is still time to get involved. Relay invites you to come out and celebrate the fight against cancer with your family, friends, co-workers, youth groups, sports organizations and neighbors by building a team that will walk for the cure. Everyone wins at this Relay.
Relay organizers want to extend a huge ‘thank you’ to Oakwood School for saying, essentially, “our place is your place” for the May 22-23 event that will take over the school and its track and fields. Oakwood has offered to share their electricity, refrigerators and other facilities during the event.
The Relay starts at 10 a.m. that Saturday and ends 24 hours later.
We’re also looking for a Karaoke machine and someone to run it to entertain walkers and supporters during their 24-hour walkathon. There will be food, live entertainment, games, merchandise and services available for you to enjoy throughout the day and night. We’ve invited key community members to come and speak about cancer and the importance of Relay for Life.
The May event – the third Relay For Life in Morgan Hill – will allow the community to come together to find a cure, honor those who’ve won the battle and those who have fallen, and celebrate their memories. Oakwood School is on John Wilson Way.
The upcoming team captain meetings are scheduled at Holiday Inn Express, 17035 Condit Road, at 7 tonight and March 30. Call me at 778-6522 if you have questions or want to help.
Last year our community helped raise $145,000 for the American Cancer Society (ACS). This year our goal is to beat $150,000. We need everyone’s help.
