The recent letter in the Morgan Hill Times paper about the soccer team that wanted to move up to Class 1 brought back memories. My son played on a Class 3 team for three seasons and then the coaches wanted to move the team up to Class 1.

Just like the Tornadoes, the OVYSL Board brought in a new coach (who at the time did not have a coaching license and had never coached such a competition team). We were told there were not enough kids to make up two teams. So our kids would have to play with the new coach or play in-house.

We were never given the reason why our coaches were not allowed to move with the team up to Class 1. The parents of the team tried to got the Board meetings but those meetings were moved or done over the phone when they heard we were coming to get answers.

The OVYSL Board in Morgan Hill seems to have their own agenda and the members don’t seem to put the kids first. What a shame.
