When driving past the Shell gas station on Dunne in front of Safeway at 12:50 p.m. Feb. 24, I noted that the price was $2.09 per gallon for regular gas. As I was running late for an appointment, I thought I would get gas on my way back. At 2:05 p.m. I pulled into the station and saw that gas was now $2.14 for regular. Needing gas for errands in San Jose, I filled my tank.
On my way home at 5 p.m. the price for regular gas had changed to $2.13 per gallon. What is up with this? Can station owners change their prices twice in one day?? I think the only reason gasoline prices are going up so much, is because the oil companies think they can charge whatever they want. I frequently travel to Los Angeles, and gas prices there are always 20 to 30 cents per gallon cheaper.
Do we need to have a no gas day, when all car owners refuse to buy gas? I can’t even imagine how high the prices will go with the arrival of spring and summer …
