Grand theft: Another job box, containing tools, copper fittings and other materials, valued at approximately $3,000-$4,000 was stolen from the Home Depot construction site. The report was taken on Feb. 2 at 8:54 a.m.

Petty theft: Mervyn’s reported a shoplifting by a female juvenile. The report was taken at 3:50 p.m. on Feb. 5.

• Ross Dress for Less reported three suspect stole merchandise from the store. The report was taken on Feb. 8 at 7:01 p.m.

• Kickline Dance reported three pairs of legwarmers were stolen from the store. The report was taken at 1:12 p.m. on Feb. 10.

• A Target customer reported her wallet was stolen from her purse, which was in the shopping cart while she was shopping. The report was taken on Feb. 10 at 3:05 p.m.

• A resident of the Maple Leaf RV Park reported a pair of skate board shoes, a Coleman tool bag and two packs of cigarettes were stolen from the resident’s picnic bench overnight. The resident is concerned someone is wearing his shoes and committing a crime, and the DNA will be traced to him. The report was taken at 2:41 p.m. on Feb. 11.

• Safeway reported four males shoplifted beer from the store. The report was taken on Feb. 11 at 5:48 p.m.

GILROY POLICE

Arrests and citations: Louie Anthony Vallez, 44, of Morgan Hill, was taken to county jail charged with possession of methamphetamine, violation of a temporary restraining order and with a warrant for probation violation. The report was taken at 3:40 p.m. on March 3.

SHERIFF

Vandalism: Two white males smashed salvaged car windows with a crow bar between 5 and 5:15 p.m. on Feb. 17. The male suspects were seen fleeing through a fence on the property.

Theft: Someone took a 5-foot, 30 gallon propane gas tank, worth $30, from a trailer home between 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27 and 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28.

• Unknown suspects went through four cars at a residence in San Martin and stole $550 worth of personal property between 8 p.m. Feb. 27 and 7 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28.

• Someone stole a vehicle dolly worth $1,000 between noon on Friday, Feb. 13 and noon on Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Camping World parking lot. The grand theft was reported to deputies by the female victim at 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 27.

• Someone stole two purses, a wallet and a silver necklace, worth more than $500, from a storage closet at a residence during their remodeling, as reported at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26.

• Someone stole a white 1971 Ford F150 pickup from a male victim in Morgan Hill between 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25 and 7:15 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 26.

• Someone stole an ATM access card from a male victim and made purchases from Dec. 20 to Feb. 23 worth $6,616. The theft was reported at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25.

• Someone stole a white 1968 bus between 8 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 23 and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25. The 22-passenger bus was left in front of Golden Valley Nut Company north of Gilroy and a witness saw a red tow truck remove it at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24. The incident was reported at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26.

Burglary: Someone took farm equipment worth $2,150 from a storage container owned by Mission Organics between 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23 and 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24. The thief also broke into a locked storage container and took 4 boxes of lettuces seed worth $2,225 and more equipment worth $700, as reported to Sheriff’s deputies at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

• Someone stole a $20 car charger and a $40 parking pass from a 1989 Mercury Tracer which was parked at the “A” Gavilan College parking lot between 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. on Feb. 20. The vehicle burglary was reported to Sheriff’s deputies at noon on Monday, Feb. 23.

Assault and Battery: Someone drove a gold Ford Probe onto a property of a male victim between 5:40 and 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28. The victim went in front of the vehicle to talk to the driver. The vehicle started to slow down, but suddenly speed up, forcing the victim to move in order to avoid being run over. The victim then hit the car with a rake, leaving a crack in the windshield. As the suspects left, the passenger was heard calling, “We’ll be back!”
