Experience the joys of spring combined with an old-time train trip in April, when the Western Railway Museum in Solano County operates the third annual “Scenic Limited” trains.

Departures at noon and 2 p.m. on all Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays during April will make leisurely 10-mile round trips from the museum south through the rolling Montezuma Hills. Passengers will enjoy unparalleled vistas of Mt. Diablo, Suisun Marsh, and thousands of acres of lush green farms and pastures.

Two classes of service are offered. First-class passengers will enjoy individual seating in an antique parlor-observation car fitted with dark wood paneling, bronze light fixtures and a handsome floral carpet. In addition, uniformed attendants will serve lemonade and assorted cookies.

Admission to the museum is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors 65 years and older, and $5 for children 2 through 14 years of age. No extra fare is required for coach service. First-class service is $5 extra. Groups of 12-36 people are asked to make advance reservations by calling the Museum at (707) 374-5927, extension 114.

The Western Railway Museum is located at 5848 State Highway 12 in Solano County, midway between Suisun City on Interstate 80 and the Sacramento River town of Rio Vista. The Museum is open every Saturday and Sunday year-round from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
