A committed group of local television techies is ready to help teachers, small businesses, church groups and the general public write, produce and edit their own television shows, announcements and instructional videos – they just have to ask.

John Liegl, a member of MHAT, Morgan Hill’s public access channel – Channel 19 – says he and his team are willing to teach, mentor or demonstrate how the equipment works and the principles of production, all at quite a low cost.

Basically Liegl, Walter von Tagen and others make up the all-volunteer group that will train a production staff, help with screen writing, explain the techniques of adding music and sound, light cues and special effects plus editing, all on-site at the studios at 82 E. Second St.

Liegl said this offer is a great opportunity for teachers wanting to expose students to new ways of looking at subjects where they develop new skills as well. The MHAT crew will also help people work on 30-second PSAs (public service announcements) for only the cost of video tape.
