Gav Niners May Ace Day
The Gavilan Niners held their May Ace Day on May 27th at the Gavilan Golf Course. Ace for May was Elaine Rickard, Gilroy, net 28, she was also first in the first flight. Second in the first flight was Birgit Caparusso, Gilroy, net 31. Third was Teri Swan, Morgan Hill, net 32. First in the second flight was Joan Webenbauer, Morgan Hill, net 28. Second was Ann Maloney, Gilroy, net 29. Third was Opal Imprescia, Gilroy, net 31. Low putts were shared by Birgit Caparusso, Gilroy, Ann Maloney, Gilroy, and Joan Webenbauer, Morgan Hill, with 14.
Winners at the Short Course Championship held at Boulder Creek and Sunken Gardens in May were Teri Swan, Morgan Hill, first in her flight, Marlene Sherwin, Morgan Hill, fourth in her flight and Joan Webenbauer, Morgan Hill, seventh in her flight. The Gavilan Niners play each Thursday morning at the Gavilan Golf Course in Gilroy. Tee time is 8:30 am (note change of time). Morgan Hill Water Polo’s Wetball program will begin Monday, June 14 at the Live Oak High pool. Wetball is a modified version of water polo that can be safely played by boys and girls ages 5-10, no matter their level of swimming skills. Cost is $200 for seven weeks. The Morgan Hill Water Polo age group team, ages 9 to 14, practices Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the new MH aquatics center. Also at the aquatics center, females age 18 and up are welcome to participate in the Moms Polo program, which practices from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
High school age water polo players practice at the Live Oak High pool on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
