Children can enjoy waterslides, play structures, and spray grounds this summer and other special events as well, offered at the new Morgan Hill Aquatics Center that opens Saturday. Water lovers of other ages won’t be left out either.
Beyond traditional recreation swim programs, the center’s after hour special events including movies, teen nights, family fun, hearty breakfasts and special party packages.
For those hot nights when you might otherwise sit in a regular theater to keep cool, you can watch double features at the “Dive in Movie” while cooling in the pool. Saturday July 10, will find “Finding Nemo” and “Jaws” featured. “Lilo and Stitch and Splash” will be shown Saturday, July 31, all shown twice: at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Parents can drop off their teens when they sign up for “Teen Howl”, an event that gives teenagers the Aquatics Center all to themselves. Teen Howl, July 8 and Aug. 5, from 7-10 p.m, includes swim access and a meal of hamburgers or hot dogs and a soda.
Families who want to enjoy a day of swimming and a barbecue meal of hamburgers or hot dogs, fries, a salad and soda can sign up for “Food, Fun, and Family,” Fridays, July 16 and 30 and Aug. 20 from 6-9 p.m.
Morning swim lovers can eat a hearty family breakfast as part of the “Eggstra Morning Swim” event, Saturdays July 24 and Aug. 14, from 7-10 a.m. There is a full breakfast with eggs any way you want, pancakes, fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, juice, coffee and milk.
The fee for the after hour special events is $12 person; concessions will be open for additional purchases during all special events.
Multi-use recreation swim passes gives unlimited swim access during regular swim hours. Aaron Himelson, Aquatics Center director said some passes give an additional $5 off of the special events.
Individuals and groups can use the Aquatics Center as a venue for parties. There is a party room with a television, DVD, tables and chairs.
Summer season passes are $249 for residents and $299 for non-residents. Swim lessons begin Monday, June 14
