Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League is now taking signups for the 2004/05 fall recreational season. The cost before July 15 is $95 for the first and second player of the family and $60 for the third or more. Beginning July 16, the cost is $120 on a space-available basis. Boys and girls aged 4-14 (born from 8-1-99 to 7-31-91) are eligible. Download an application from www.ovysl.org, fill it out and mail it to OVYSL, P.O. Box 0891, Morgan Hill, Ca. 95038. Please include a copy of a certified copy of the prospective player’s borth certificate along with a 1”x11/2” color photo. Player may not be wearing a hat or sunglasses in the photo. mh colt baseball

Morgan Hill Pony Baseball is registering players for the 2004 season. Registration forms can be printed from the MHPB website at: www.mhpb.org and mailed to: MHPB, PO Box 353, Morgan Hill, CA 95038 prior to Friday. Walk up registrations will also be accepted on Saturday at the Live Oak High baseball field. New players to the league will be required to present a birth certificate as proof of age. Fees are $150. open annual golf tournament

The public is invited to join Jeff Garcia and friends for the 2004 Jeff Garcia Open Annual Golf Tournament benefiting the Make A Wish Foundation, St. Joseph’s Family Center, and local youth scholarships. The tournament takes place Friday, June 11, at the beautiful and challenging Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Gilroy. Don’t miss this chance for a day of fun with Jeff Garcia and other celebrities in support of local charities. The scramble play, mixed team tournament will feature great prizes, including the chance to win a new car or one million dollars for a hole in one. SCBA basketball

The summer session of the SCBA basketball program begins on June 11 and ends on July 27. Practices and games will be held on Saturdays. There will be optional open gyms one night a week. literacy run

The Annual Run for Literacy will be held Saturday, June 12 in San Juan Bautista. All proceeds go to the Adult Literacy Program of San Benito County. There are three races — a 10K run, a 5K run and a 5K walk. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in standard age categories. The entry fee includes T-shirt and water bottle. 10K run/walk

Coe Park’s Sixth Annual Hunting Hollow 10K Run/Walk takes place Saturday, June 12, at Coe Park, Coyote Reservoir Road, Gilroy. Pre-registration is at 8 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m. Music, massage, raffle with lots of great prizes and awards. The 10K course follows a fairly level dirt road to the valley’s end and back, occasionally passing through the shade of large oaks, sycamores, and bay trees. basketball jones hoops camps

The 9th Annual Basketball Jones Hoop Camp will take place July 5-9 at Oakwood Country School, 105 John Wilson Way, Morgan Hill. The camp runs from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and is open to boys and girls ages 76-15. Camp fee is $180 for week; $160 is you sign up before May 15.
