I have some major concerns with the start time of our elementary schools. I find the recent letter about “school starts too early” to be factual and commendable that the parent of young children is questioning the ridiculous start time for elementary kids at 7:40 a.m. In Canada, the senior high kids start at that time as they are getting ready for the real world.
Elementary kids start at 8:15 and 9 a.m. here. If there is a problem with the school buses routine switch it so that the elementary kids are the last picked up. It is time the Morgan Hill School Board takes a reality pill on the needs of the kids they teach.
How unfair to working parents that their young children are forced to spend less time sleeping than learning. o bouquets to the parents of those kids, and hopefully more will come forward in support.
