SCBA Spring registration

The SCBA basketball program is currently accepting applications for its Spring Program. The season runs from Saturday, March 6 to Saturday, May 22. Paid applications postmarked on or before February 13: $95 for new players or who need a new jersey; $75 for returning players. The price goes up $10 for late and or walk up registration. USYVL signups

SJ Sharks kids program

The San Jose Sharks and Outback Steakhouse have joined forces to present the Outback Steakhouse Most Valuable Kids Program again this season.

The award is given to a youth hockey player each month based on recommendations from their respective coaches for their on and off-ice accomplishments.

One of these winners will be recognized at halftime of the Feb. 23 Sharks vs. Columbus game. Winners of this year’s award can earn valuable prizes. Details: visit sjsharks.com

California women’s baseball

The California Women’s Baseball League will hold its first games of the 2004 season on Sunday at Mission College near Highway 101 and the Great America Parkway.

The season-opener will feature a doubleheader, including the 10 a.m. game between the Peninsula Peppers and the Alameda Oaks and the 2 p.m. game between the San Jose Spitfires and the San Francisco Fillies.
