and the man he hired left with the money, but without finishing the
job.

• Petty theft: A Morgan Hill resident reported he hired someone to do some work in the parking lot of his small shopping center, and the man he hired left with the money, but without finishing the job. He told police the man also took his tools, along with his own tools, when he left. He gave police the name and number of the man he hired. The report was taken at 3:43pm.

• Stolen vehicle: A Lincoln Continental was stolen from the parking lot behind Heritage Realty on Monterey Road where it was parked overnight. The owner told police there was a spare key hidden inside the vehicle. The report was taken at 5:55pm.

August 9

• Auto burglary: A resident of San Pablo Court reported someone broke into their Chevy Yukon overnight. A window was shattered, and the stereo, TV and other items were stolen. The report was taken at 6:09am.

• Petty theft: A resident of the Terracina Apartments reported their notary seal and driver’s license were stolen. The report was taken at 9:59am.

• Brandishing: A Sheriff’s Office deputy was flagged down by a citizen who said a vehicle in the Longs Drugs parking lot on East Dunne Avenue contained five males and one female and two semi-automatic handguns. The citizen told police the driver and a passenger both had guns. The report was taken at 11am.

• Auto burglary: A Morgan Hill resident reported his wallet was stolen from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the Tennant Station shopping center. The report was taken at 6:51pm.

August 10

• Stolen vehicle: A Morgan Hill resident reported their Honda Civic was stolen on Aug. 8 and then returned and was stolen again. The report was taken at 12:24pm.

• Vandalism: Central Continuation High on Monterey Road reported graffiti at the school. The report was taken at 4:05pm.
