Someone reported unauthorized charges totaling $1,700 were made on their bank account, according to police reports. The crime was reported 3:46 p.m. April 20.
Stolen vehicle
A blue 1993 Honda Civic two-door hatchback was stolen from an unspecified location in Morgan Hill, according to police. The crime was reported 6:10 a.m. April 21.
A 24-foot race trailer with a red Acura Integra inside was stolen from an unspecified location in Morgan Hill, police reported. The theft was reported 9:54 a.m. April 27.
Auto burglary
Someone broke into a white Hyundai Excel by smashing a window and stole a backpack containing personal items, according to police. The theft was reported 8:42 p.m. April 23.
A thief or thieves smashed the rear window of a vehicle while the car’s owner was dining in Chili’s, 1039 Cochrane Road, according to police reports. The crime was reported 7:16 p.m. April 26. Several minutes later, a private security guard at DSW Shoes, located in the same shopping center, found a black duffel bag abandoned in front of the store. The item may have been related to the auto break-in at Chili’s and other incidents at surrounding areas. Other vehicles broken into the evening of April 26 include a Toyota Prius in the parking lot of Chili’s, a white Ford Explorer in the parking lot of Red Robin and a green Titan pickup near Chili’s.
Petty theft
Someone stole a blender and cookware from Wal-mart, 170 Cochrane Plaza, according to police. The crime was reported 3:42 p.m. April 24.
Someone stole a Pebble Smartwatch from Target, 1061 Cochrane Road, according to police. The theft was reported 10:33 p.m. April 25.
Hit and run
A light-colored sedan that caused a four-vehicle collision fled the scene of the accident near the intersection of Butterfield Boulevard and Diana Avenue, according to police reports. The accident was reported 5:16 p.m. April 24. The suspect who fled the scene rear-ended a vehicle and started a “chain reaction” of collisions. The driver of one of the vehicles involved complained of neck pain.
