Pedestrian hit by vehicle
A man in his late 20s old was struck by a vehicle while crossing Monterey Road on foot about 2:30 p.m. March 26, according to police.
The vehicle, a small four-door sedan, struck the pedestrian on the southbound side of Monterey Road, just south of the intersection of Dunne Avenue, police reports said.
The pedestrian, whom police did not identify, was transported to an area hospital with abrasions on his head, right elbow and both hands. He was unable to move his left leg at the scene, but did not suffer any major structural or internal injuries. Police expected the pedestrian to be released from the hospital March 27.
Traffic was shut down on Monterey Road for about an hour while police conducted an investigation of the accident.
Auto burglary
A white Chevrolet van was broken into in the area of the 200 block of East Dunne Avenue, according to police reports. The thief or thieves stole tools and work equipment from inside the vehicle. The theft was reported 8 a.m. March 27.
A thief or thieves broke into a green Nissan pickup and stole change and cell phone cables, according to police. The crime was reported 7:45 p.m. March 29.
Grand theft
Someone stole a laptop computer, chainsaws and other items from a property at an unspecified location in Morgan Hill, according to police reports. The value of the stolen items was between $1,000 and $1,500. The crime was reported 10:49 p.m. March 27.
Petty theft
Someone stole a hard drive for an Xbox video game system from Target, 1061 Cochrane Road, according to police reports. After store employees reported the incident to police, officers visited the thief at his home where he lived with his mother. The suspect agreed to return to the store and return the stolen item. The store declined to prosecute the thief. The crime was reported about 5 p.m. March 29.
