Dear Editor,

Jan. 22 marks the 32nd anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade, which granted women the constitutional right to make their own childbearing decisions.

Planned Parenthood Mar Monte firmly believes that every woman should continue to have the right to make under her own reproductive choices, guided by her ethical beliefs, medical advice, and personal circumstances.

The fate of reproductive freedom is at stake. Right now, Roe v. Wade is hanging by a thread. The current United States Supreme Court supports Roe v. Wade by a slim 5-4 margin. This anti-choice administration may have the opportunity to appoint one or more U.S Supreme Court justices.

We will not allow this administration to appoint anti-choice Supreme Court justices. We will not allow the clock to turn back to the days of back alley abortions.

We along with America’s pro-choice majority steadfastly will oppose all anti-choice judicial nominees in order that we protect reproductive freedom.
