A Morgan Hill Unified school bus carrying 10 students crashed into a four-door car, resulting in minor injuries to the vehicle’s passenger and the bus driver, police said.
No children in the school bus complained of injuries following the accident about 7:37 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of East Dunne Avenue and Hill Road, according to Sgt. Jerry Neumayer.
The bus was traveling south on Hill Road when it collided into the passenger’s-side door of a red Mitsubishi that was traveling west on Dunne Avenue, Neumayer said.
The smaller car was occupied by the driver and a passenger in the front seat. The passenger, whose name was not immediately available, complained of minor injuries, Neumayer said.
Authorities think the school bus driver ran a red light at the intersection, according to officer Jaime Rios of the California Highway Patrol, who is still investigating the accident. Rios added that the driver of the school bus also complained of pain.
Police did not immediately know if the two victims were transported to the hospital, and their names were not immediately available.
No injuries were reported among the children on the school bus.
