SAN JOSE — Seniors Ralph Jackson of Sobrato, and Dylan Frechette and Michael Singleton of Live Oak have been selected to play in the Annual Charlie Wedemeyer High School All-Star Football Game, presented by Almaden Valley Rotary Club.

The three all-leaguers will play for the South on July 21, when the Silicon Valley Youth Classic makes its 36th running in San Jose State’s Spartan Stadium starting at 7:30 p.m.

Jackson and Frechette are listed as defensive backs, and Singleton will play linebacker. Frechette may also see time at kicker.

Mike Carrozzo of Leland will coach the South.

The Wedemeyer Game showcases some of the best football talent in Santa Clara County and the Central Coast Section. Last year’s edition ended in a tie, 28-28, for the third time in history and featured Morgan Hill players Jeff Blean of Live Oak and Sobrato’s Alex Meldrum.
