Water District Wins Performance Award

The Santa Clara Valley Water District is one of 17 companies and agencies in the state to receive a California Award for Performance Excellence.

The district won the equivalent of a bronze medal for superior performance in information management and delivery of its key services such as water supply, flood control and environmental protection.

CEO Stan Williams said the district applied for the award because the process includes a detailed audit of agency operations and advice on how to improve.

Williams said the district needs to improve its so-called support services, such as equipment management and its budgeting and financial management.
