LIVERMOORE — Amay Poria of Morgan Hill won the Boys First Flight title in last week’s NCGA Junior Tour-Summer Series II tournament at Poppy Ridge Golf Course with a two-round total of 151.
Poria, 14, shot a 5-over-par 76 in the final round Thursday on the 5,767-yard course in Livermore to hold off Novato’s Robert Briggs, who made a late charge to place second at 154. Poria birdied the par-4 second and 10th holes as well as the par-3 16th to finish strong. He played eight consecutive holes without a bogey.
Kodai Nagano of Mountain View was third at 158, and Eashwar Thenpattinam and Chadwin Castro, a pair of San Jose players, finished eighth and ninth at 163 and 164, respectively.
The flight featured 15 players.
Poria carded a 75 in the first round, including a birdie on the par-five fifth. He shot par on nine of his final 10 holes.
