SAN MARTIN — Hall of Fame defensive back Ronnie Lott and San Jose Sharks president Greg Jamison are among seven sports-minded business leaders from around the Bay Area who have been named to the host committee for the Frys.com Open at CordeValle, tournament director Ian Knight announced Tuesday.
The committee members are tasked with creating unique ways of spreading the message of the PGA Tour event as well as donating their time at various events during the tournament week (Oct. 11-17).
The 2010 Frys.com Open host committee also includes Kathy Kolder, founder/executive vice president of Fry’s Electronics; Pat Dando, president of the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce; George Maxe, executive director of the First Tee of San Jose; Brian Reynard of Cisco Systems and Silicon Valley Executive Network and Greg Rivers of Steelhead Advisors.
Lott, who spent most of his 13-year NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers, is a spokesman for All-Stars for Kids and Champions Charities.
“We are extremely pleased with the members of our host committee,” Knight said. “We have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge about the community from these folks and that will go a long way in making the first-ever PGA Tour event in Silicon Valley a success.”
