Local club led in scoring for second consecutive year
PALO ALTO — At the annual California Women’s Short Course Golf Association Christmas Luncheon, held Dec. 11 at the Palo Alto Golf Course’s Bay Cafe, the Gavilan Niners ladies golf group was presented with the 2009 CWSCGA Trophy for scoring the most points during the year.
The Niners also won the trophy in 2008.
Members of CWSCGA hail from 10 clubs ranging from Foster City to Gilroy. These clubs compete monthly.
The Annual Gavilan Niners Christmas Luncheon was held Dec. 17 in the home of Rashmi Beman in Gilroy. Shelley Kovacs was honored as club champion (low gross), Penny Parisi had low net and Peggy Woolf took home the Ace of Aces award for 2009.
The Gavilan Niners Ladies Golf Club plays each at 8:30 a.m. each Thursday at the Gilroy Golf Course. For more information please call 848-0490.
