Westmont
SAN JOSE — Tuesday’s 38-26 loss at Hill provided an unfortunately fitting end to the first half of West Valley Division girls basketball for Live Oak.
The Lady Acorns were locked in another battle until the dreaded third quarter, when the first-place Falcons outscored them 13-0. Live Oak was down 20-19 after two quarters, marking the fifth West Valley game in which the Acorns have trailed by less than 10 points at halftime.
Jacey Turay led Live Oak (3-11 overall, 1-5 league) with 10 points, and Meghan Perez had six.
Hill (7-10, 6-1) remained tied for the league’s top spot with Overfelt.
The Acorns’ stretch run begins at 7 p.m. Thursday at Lincoln.
