The Third Street panel in question.

“Dear Red Phone, I and several others I’ve spoken to think the Third Street mural depicts a young girl with no shirt that constitutes (child pornography).”

Strong>Red Phone: Dear Is It Porn, Red Phone went directly to the source, and contacted muralist Morgan Bricca. She said the painting is inspired from a historical photo taken from a place and time that she’s trying to recreate.

“I chose that particular image because it illustrates a sweet, unassuming moment for the young family, enjoying a rest in the sun after picking fruit,” Bricca said. “I liked the fact the girl was in jeans many sizes too big, and without a shirt. It spoke volumes about the sense of safety and lack of self-consciousness of the girl. I am trying to communicate innocence through that image.”

Bricca said she finished that section on Friday, so it is now complete.

“I feel better having this debated with a finished product to refer to.”

So good caller and your friends, check out the final panel that was finished Friday. Bricca said it will take about another 15 working days to complete the entire mural.

Light poses threat to motorists

“Dear Red Phone, every morning I go to get onto northbound U.S. 101 from Tennant and the light is RIDICULOUSLY long. I think perhaps this is some type of metering system however it poses a threat to safety when people are going in other lanes to run the red light. I have been in two separate perilous situations because I refuse to run a red light regardless of how long or the fact that there is no traffic at 5:30 a.m. What is the city doing about this? Please help.”

Strong>Red Phone: Dear Tired of Waiting, Red Phone contacted Bernard Walik, public information officer for Caltrans in Santa Clara County, who late last year said a supervisor would look into the situation. Well, now Walik reports that the staff supervisor just opened an order for the engineering team to investigate this issue.

“I will let you know as soon as we have completed our review of the situation.”

There you have it, good caller. Caltrans is on the case and Red Phone will update the situation when information becomes available.
