Linda and Ken Okenquist of Morgan Hill, whose son Kirk is a Bellarmine alumnus, class of 2000, and whose daughter, Julie Okenquist Davis, graduated from Presentation High School in 1996 were honored as Bellarmine College Preparatory’s 32nd Annual President’s Award winners during a dinner Oct. 27.
The donor recognition event is held each year, and features the presentation of the President’s Award, given to those who have demonstrated support to Bellarmine in a variety of ways.
Linda is a current Trustee at Presentation and Ken is a former Presentation Trustee. Linda also served on the Board of Regents at Bellarmine, was Bellarmine Mothers’ Guild president in 1999-2000, and is a founding member of AMEN (Alumni Mothers Extended Network), which gives mothers of Bellarmine alumni a way to continue their connection to the school after their sons have graduated.
In presenting the award to the Okenquists, Bellarmine president, Father Paul G. Sheridan, S.J., said that the couple, “really exemplify what it is to be a recipient of the President’s Award. They are gracious and their humility prevents them from fully recognizing the tremendous impact their leadership and support have had on the Bellarmine community.”
